Meaningful Memories - A Memory Quilt Story
Feb 02, 2014
Katie told us her t-shirt memory quilt is a representation of everything most important to her, from a dedication to her career to a loving memento of her husband.
"The T-shirts that are on the top and bottom at the left represent my husband who passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease. I'm very active in the ALS chapter now and Piedmont Airlines is where he was working when we first met. Several of the shirts are from my 38 years as a physical therapist; the Steps to Your Dreams and the Who's Your Physical Therapist is from the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. Hilton Head, South Carolina and Sedona are two of my favorite vacation spots. The top middle represents my renewed interest in biking. Last, but certainly among the most important are the three shirts that acknowledge that I am a follower of Jesus Christ. In 2014, I was blessed to renew my faith through baptism in the Jordan River while on a trip to Israel. I love that when I show the blanket to others they ask why I carefully chose the t-shirts I did. I plan on having more made for other family members"
Katie’s memories are embedded in the stories told by her tshirts. At Project Repat we weave those memories together to create unique memory blankets. We would love to hear your story, too!
